Q: Is the padded lid a good height for an armrest?
A: The padded lid on our floor console is the correct height to be used as a comfortable armrest. Below are the measurements from the floor to the top of the padded lid.
- 365mm - Mid 2009+ 78 Series TroopCarrier & Mid 2009 - Mid 2016 79 Series Single Cab
- 494mm (approx. 214mm higher than the plastic factory console) - Mid 2016+ 79 Series Single Cab & Mid 2009+ 76 Series StationWagon & 79 Series Dual Cab
Q: Do I need to drill any holes into my vehicle to fit this console?
A: For 76 Series Station Wagon, 79 Series Single Cab (MY2016 and on) and 79 Series Dual Cab owners- No holes to drill or damage to the vehicle! This product has galvanised steel mounting brackets positioned to locate existing captive nuts in the floor. Installation hardware and clear installation instructions are included.
For 79 Series Single Cab (up to MY1026) and 78 Series TroopCarrier owners with a vehicle that came from Toyota with a two bucket seats and a factory plastic console/ storage tray between the seats- no holes to drill or damage to the vehicle! This product has galvanised steel mounting brackets positioned to locate existing mounting points in the floor.
For 79 Series Single Cab (up to MY1026) and 78 Series TroopCarrier owners with a vehicle that came from Toyota with a a bucket seat in the driver's side and a bench seat in the passenger's side- there are no existing mounting points in the floor to mount the console. We will supply the hardware and installation instructions to fit this console. Two 3mm holes must be drilled in the floor at the rear of the console for secure installation.
Q: Do you have a Full Length Floor Console to suit a steel dash LandCruiser?
A: At this stage, we do not offer a Full Length Floor Console for models up to MY2009 (steel dash models). If you'd like to add your details to a list of customers interested in this product, feel free to send your details and vehicle model to sales@consoles.com.au.
Q: Can I fit my UHF to a Full Length Floor Console?
A: The front accessories facia is on an ideal angle to fit a UHF radio, which you will need to see and operate while driving.There is limited amount of depth behind the front accessories facia. The width is also limited as a result of the airbag mechanism and deceleration sensor installed in this position (located under the factory cup holder to the left of the shifter). The following UHF radios can be mounted into the Full Length Floor Console:
- GME TX3520 - the remote face of this UHF will fit in the front facia (we'd suggest on the passenger's side). The body of the UHF can be fitted inside the console close to the back. We'd suggest fitting a GME SPK-07 extension speaker as the speaker in this UHF is in the body of the radio (which would be muffled). Alternatively, if you are considering (or have already done) a stereo upgrade, you can wire the UHF radio up to the factory pioneer 4" speakers under the dashboard.
- GME TX3100 and TX3120S - This 'super compact size' UHF will fit on the driver's side of the front accessories facia. We'd suggest fitting a GME SPK-07 extension speaker as the speaker in this UHF is in the body of the radio (which would be muffled). Alternatively, if you are considering (or have already done) a stereo upgrade, you can wire the UHF radio up to the factory pioneer 4" speakers under the dashboard.
- GME XRS 330C and GME XRS 370C (+ any other UHF radios with all controls, speaker and and screen on the hand piece e.g. Icom IC-450)- The body of the UHF can be fitted inside the console close to the back. We can supply and fit an RJ45 plug in the front accessories facia for $40 incl. GST. to plug in your hand piece.
Other 'Super Compact', 'Mini Compact' and 'Micro Size' radios e.g. Uniden XTRAK 40, Oricom UHF300 etc. can be fitted on the driver's side of the front accessories facia.

Q: Will the console fit with aftermarket seats installed?
A: Our product is designed to fit with most aftermarket seats, including the seats listed below. If the seat(s) you have installed is/are not listed below, please get in touch over the phone or via email. We can make adjustments to accommodate for most aftermarket seats by getting a couple of photos and measurements from your vehicle. If your aftermarket seats have armrests fitted, we will need to make some adjustment to the height of the console. Please get in touch with is over the phone, or via email.

Q: How big are the jumbo cup holders?
A: The internal diameter of our jumbo size cup holders is approximately 88mm. The internal depth is 75mm, including a smaller diameter 'tier' in the bottom to accommodate can size drink containers.
Q: Can you fit a can with a stubby cooler in the cup holders?
A: Yes! Just add the jumbo cup holder disks to your order. Our jumbo cup holder disks are a disk/ doughnut shape piece of flat plastic that sits in the jumbo cup holder to level out the two tiered design, making it suitable for drink sizes in between the two set diameters e.g. a large sports drink (Maximus) or stubby cooler diameter.
Q: How big is the L-shape Storage Tray?
A: Here are the dimensions of our plastic L-shape storage tray:
- 190mm wide (across the width of the console)
- 125mm long (along the length of the console)
- 55mm deep

A: We use the Narva Australia Heavy-Duty Twin Accessory/Dual USB Sockets
Q: Can you fit stainless steel cup holders?
A: We use ABS plastic instead of metal for our cup holders and storage tray to avoid any rattles from coins, cans, metal coffee mugs etc.
Q: Do you offer custom upholstery?
A: Yes, absolutely. Our most popular colour options are dark grey to match the dashboard, or black to match centre instrument panel, however we do offer this product in any colour of your choice. If you've had some other work done to your interior and would like to match the material you have already used, we can upholster the console in the same material. We have accounts with most suppliers in Australia and can most likely source the material to match. Q: Is this product available in leather?
A: Yes, we do offer leather upholstery. Additional charges apply. If you've had some other work done to your interior and would like to match the material you have already used, we can upholster the console in the same material. Q: Can I fit a fridge with the console?

Q: What do the colours match?
A: Here are our standard vinyl colour options:
- Dash Indent Vinyl- this is an exclusive vinyl we have had custom made to match the colour of the dashboard, glovebox and steering wheel.
- 301 Black Vinyl- this is a match to the black accessories in the vehicle, for example the black instrument panel in the centre of the dashboard. The colour and grain match that of the handbrake handle and gear shifter knob.
Q: Do you need to remove the factory rubber boot?
A: The manual gear boot in this product is decorative only. The installer must leave the factory rubber boot in place. This rubber boot acts as a seal to prevent fumes and transmission noise from entering the vehicle.
Q: Can I buy the blank plywood frame?
A: Unfortunately not. We do not offer our product as a blank timber frame. Our machinists and upholsterers have tens of years of experience and we love to offer our product with the highest quality finish. If you'd like us to upholster the console to match some other work you are having done in the vehicle, view the FAQ's above.
Q: Does the console obstruct the glove box?
A: No. There is a small recess on the passenger's side at the front which allows for the glove box to open correctly without rubbing on the side of the console.
Q: What is the console made out of?
A: Our products are constructed with exterior grade, marine bonded plywood and finished with soft padded vinyl upholstery to match your interior.
